Technical Assistant to the President
The Technical Assistant to the President position performs various technical and administrative duties that contribute to the effective operation of the Office of the President, Academic & Provost and its activities.
Responsibilities
- Accreditation
- Ensure that all programs are accredited
- Supports Quality Assurance on accreditation and related issues
- Academic Programs Committee
- Schedules, moderates, and documents all reviews and disseminates minutes
- Project Management
- Serves as a liaison on all projects from the Office of the President
- Ensures that are on and within schedule.
- Serves as a facilitator for Student projects
- New Programs Development
- Research on which new programs to develop
- Documents all information required for the development of new programs
- Works with the Deans and HoDs to ensure that programs are submitted to GTEC for approvals
- Facilitation
- Ensures that all communication from the office of the President/Provost is professionally done
- Accountable for all presentations to be delivered by the President/Provost
- Monitoring & Evaluation
- Track, gather and collate academic and institutional information with the Registrar.
Position Requirements
Education: Bachelor’s degree or Masters
Experience:
Three years of experience in an office work environment including demonstrated experience providing technical support to Staff and Senior Administration/Senior Leadership
Demonstrated experience in a University office work environment is preferred
Demonstrated ability to:
- Maintain a high standard of public relations at all times
- Communicate ideas and information effectively to others verbally and in writing
- Work independently with minimal supervision
- Exercise judgement and discretion when handling confidential and sensitive information
- Use reason and determination to make effective decisions and develop solutions to problems
- Set priorities, manage a high work demand and conflicting priorities, and meet dead-
lines
Technical:
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Access, Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
